Oh yea, as if I'd like to make it even easier for my enemies to find this place. Lord knows what dirt they could find on me here.

All they'd have to do is google your website URL.

True. But 'poly only comes up at the bottom of page 4 when searching for link:http://www.youthrights.org

Certainly isn't hard to find, but for what few enemies we have they don't yet care enough to do that much research.

Alex Koroknay-Palicz, do you think 30 year old should **** 12 year olds?

But yea Ben, that was a pretty assholish thing to say. Wiglaf is completely correct. The Post contacted me initially (I didn't seek it out) to run a feature article about the organization and the cause itself. I spoke at length with the reporter about the ins and outs of our philosophy and the structure of our organization and our hopes, aspirations and history. Gave him some real grade A material.
I see. I owe you an apology then. I'm only seeing the one thing, the picture and the article that he did write, not the beginning of the story.

I don't think the story or the focus is at all helpful to your cause and what you are intending to do, I'd actually rather like to see you eating something more substantial then ramen noodles on occasion.

I am speaking from experience with respect to your media exposure. You need to go back to the paper and tell them that you are disgusted by their coverage and that you won't do articles with them again. It is so, so, so important that the first look that people get of you be a positive association. I cannot stress this enough. You can't go wrong looking professional, but there are many people who otherwise would be inclined to support you who will change their mind as a result of this article. It would seriously creep me out, honestly.

I've been on both sides, the feature and the reporter, and there is no excuse. I don't care if the editor doesn't like the story, the reporter has to be honest enough to say that the real story here is your mission, not yourself.

I find it ridiculous that someone can be old enough to go to jail for doing something he wasnt old enough to do.

If society finds an age that they can try you as an adult that should be the legal age of adulthood. If a 16 year old can be tried as an adult and have thier liberty taken away forever they should be given the privledges of an adult.

I find it amazing that my daughter is old enough to get married but not old enough to drink at her own wedding.
My son-in-law to be is old enough to kill and potentially be killed in Iraq, yet not old enough to enter the bar next to the hall he is getting married in.

Society has told this couple they are old enough to have children and are responsible for the well being of those children. They could be found criminally negligent if they are not responsible, yet they can't have a beer. They are old enough to run a family but not old enough to have a beer.

I'm not sure what the right age is and in fact it is probably different for every person. But the laws seem to work totally against those in the 12-20 age. i.e. If you commit a crime you are old enough to be an adult but if you want a priveledge you are too young and the priviledge you seek is considered a crime merely due to your age.

Keep up the good work Ozzy.

The reason why this movement has trouble gaining traction is because everyone out grows the injustice so there is not any long term commitment to the idea.

It would be as if blacks in the Jim Crow era were only black for 3 or 4 years then they suddenly turned white. By the time they got fed up the issue would be over and then they would be part of the oppressor class.

Um, letting a handful of 18 year olds marry is a lot less dangerous than letting all 18 year olds drink.

If a 16 year old can be tried as an adult and have thier liberty taken away forever they should be given the privledges of an adult.
16 year olds are developed enough to know murdering someone is wrong. That's a lot more innate than, say, electing a president based on his policies.

My son-in-law to be is old enough to kill and potentially be killed in Iraq, yet not old enough to enter the bar
But your son in law isn't in Iraq, so what's the point? I fully support the idea that military men and women should be able to drink at 18, but no one else.

Hey, I'd approve of that if I were American (yeah I know Wiglaf, I'm not, so what's the point? Well, you figure it out.)

It's a good start. Then again according to Wikipedia the legal drinking age in Iraq is actually 18, allowing for all sorts of clever remarks.
