Memory and attention in themselves have little to do with stupidity. I have already posted one example of how my experiences have included achievements that are the opposite of stupidity. There have been many others. I'm currently tempted to smoke a few spliffs in the near future for the purpose of sketching out potential solutions for a database application I need to design. It won't be the first time, and I wont be wrecked and wasted, I'll be lucid and imaginative. Maybe I won't and I'll solve it the dull way without the intuitive flashes and the adrenaline-fuelled fun.
Talking about memory and attention is quite valid. These areas may well be inhibited by THC. Creativity, inspiration, logical problem-solving are other areas.
Drugs are tools. They can be appropriate or inappropriate depending on circumstances, setting, dosage and other factors.
People who are basically fùcked-up anyway tend to blame the substances they abuse for all their problems. This is perhaps not surprising, but it is not a fair and rational assessment. It's easier to blame a substance than to take responsibility for one's own excesses and failures.
Oh, and being stoned 5,000 times is nothing special .

I ignore things that people post in these threads that aren't interesting or supportive at all of their own argument. I've posted studies that prove that people who smoke pot are stupider. You have no evidence to prove that you are smart for or from smoking pot. In fact, you think that you are posting strong evidence when you are not and you in fact admit to being a pot smoker. That's evidence in itself.

No, what happens is that you are high and delusional expecially about your own abilities. You think that you are creating a masterpiece when you are in fact just creating a piece of crap maybe. You can't possibly deny that drugs make you have an inflated perception about things like taht now can you?

That sounds insane to me. I would never think of using a drug as a tool, except for medicine of course.

Earth to Cort Haus! People don't blame drugs. They defend them. They claim that the drugs aren't harming them, and that they even help them. For christs sake, isn't that what you are doing? In fact, that's what everyone does who uses drugs. I've honestly never heard of a drug user who said that drugs were making them stupid. But in fact drugs do make you stupid. Hell, even crack heads claim that drugs make them smarter.

So you wrongfully acuse me of something and then turn around do it. Go ahead and keep speaking to your credibility.
kid do you ever wonder why lots of people have you on ignore? it's not because you're an arsehole (you're not), but because of the immense frustration involved in talking to and listening to someone who is like two short planks.

Unfortunately, cannabis is certainly not less dangerous to society than tobacco, and if used similarly to alcohol would also be much worse than alcohol (although it's much easier to consume alcohol, so it ends up probably as bad or worse).
I dont have the exact numbers, but the annual death toll is
tobacco - 400,000
pot - <100 ?
As for the alcohol comparison
alcohol - 75,000?
pot - <100
And that aint even getting into all the violence related to booze.
However, smoking pot is certainly much worse than drinking a small amount of alcohol, and it's IMO bad enough in terms of its inebriation effect that it should be not legal (as should drinking large amounts of alcohol).
Inebriation does not describe the effects of pot, the two aint comparable in that respect. Its kinda hard for me to explain this since I play golf under the influence of pot but I've also played more than just a little tipsy (it was medicinal, I was in horrible pain and couldn't finish the round without pills and vodka) and I still played very well. But I dont play any better sober! I do know what its like to drive under the influence of pot and booze, and there just aint no comparison. Booze is far more dangerous... Oh, and people drink alcohol with the expectation of getting a buzz, or more, so basing laws on the argument we can dilute alcohol so people can drink it without being under the influence is kinda silly

Yup, I've had that feeling of getting high and having a flash of inspiration and solving a problem that was stumping me.
