2) Israel legally settled the lands under mandate from the the local ruler: for the ottoman government, then league of nations mandate under britain. Only after WWII did yishuv disobeyed brittain's regulations (which were an obstruction of the original mandate).

Israel was founded based upon several UN suggestions and finally a UN resolution. So no one stole no body's land.

3) tens of thousands of inhabitants returned safely back to their homes between 1948 and 1952. That flow stopped when Israel sealed it's border when Arab countries began arming some of them and sending them on terrorist missions (look up Fedayeen).

There is little historical debate as to who caused the 6 day war by unanimously closing the Tiran straits, threatening war, and inserting an army in the Sinai.

I deplore the deaths of everyone, civilian or not. Sometimes people have to die though. It's one thing to drop a bomb on someone setting off a rocket. It's another thing to drop a bomb where a rocket was fired a few minutes ago or who you suspect of planning to fire a rocket sometime in the future. It's one thing to blow yourself up to get soldiers at a check point, and another to do it in a bus or a restaurant. Both the deliberate disregard of civilians and the deliberate targeting of civilians are crimes against humanity.

But one side is clearly worse than the other. Both sides carry out deliberate attacks against civilian non-combatants. I don't know what else you'd call it when you space a missile five minutes apart when attempting to assassinate someone, let alone using a missile in a crowded city when attempting to kill one person. If I kill your daughter, and in retaliation, you kill my entire family, we are not equally bad people.

What would I like to see happen? How about a truth and reconciliation council. Israel needs to start treating Palestine as an equal, rather than a defeated people. Both sides need to deal honestly with their pasts. There are some in Israel who do, but they are shouted down and called self-hating Jews, etc. Eventually the two lands and two peoples will be united. The growing Arab population in Israel will see to that. So it's in Israel's best interests to really treat Palestinians with respect rather than the Potemkin village respect they do for themselves and America.

You mean other invaders gave y'all permission to invade? Dont be ridiculous, the UN cant give you my land and then tell me it wasn't stolen. Lemme run it down for you: Killing, killing, killing and more killing is what will happen today, tomorrow and for the next few decades. That's the future. Nor will a Palestinian victory result in anything other than a messed up dictatorship, Islamic or otherwise. The Jewish population will never accept a One state, i.e. a State of Palestine, solution. Ever. It's not going to happen. Jews would simply leave the country en masse if it did.
Obviously you support the majority Palestinians in this instance. I doubt that their lot will improve should they gain a state, judging by their society. It is, for now, not capable of running a democratic government. The result of 'victory' will be a Palestinian civil war between Hamas run gangs and Fatah run gangs, lots of death and finally a dictator who'll kill dissidents left and right. Incidentally,given the pathetic state of their divided organisations, I'm guessing Palestinian communists will be first against the wall regardless of who wins. That's the glorious future you support in effect. The Palestinians will be perfectly free to live in any part of Israel--and be oppressed their by their very own murderous despot. None of the Palestinians' real social or economic problems will be solved by the stance you support.
