Talk about chubby. But then he probably spends $200 a month on sports and work-out.

Ecthy, nah it's going good. It's not "my idea"; it's my job . It just doesn't pay when you do it from academic POV. I mean you do it in the industry, so it's the same, except you don't get paid. I'm doing my dissertation now so... about that stuff so yeah. Maybe after that? Maybe then I can afford to eat outside once a week? Yes please?

Yeah, I try to eat 5-6 meals a day. Most of the meals are only a few hundred calories, and while it is OK if a couple are 500-600, I try to keep them all below 900.

I don't do anything but pay for a gym membership right now. That is 44$ a month, but I am thinking starting to go to a pool also. I would like to have a personal trainer, but I Think that runs several hundred a month (at minimum).

I do 3 cardio + 3 weight days a week. Hopefully any weight I gain will be due to increased ammount of muscle.

Keep saving, find a nice girl who's earning too, and one day you'll be able to buy something together. I had to wait until I was 40 to buy, but we got there in the end.

You never know, Slovenia might even let Croatia into the EU, and then you can ply your trade in a country where you can earn enough in a few years to buy a cool place back home, as all the Poles have been doing over here.

You're on to my thoughts there. Except I'm not betting on Slovenia so I was thinking of emigrating to the US. I think I'd be able to sell my skills there for about 3 or 4 times what I'm selling them here. The only problem is it'd be quite a move even in the age of intercontinental flight.

Jon, you count calories? I'll have 2-3 meals a day, the amount will vary with hunger and be estimated by experience. What's left after eating will be eaten later. No weight gain involved

you have no idea what you want for yourself... and I am being serious...

I can bet you can do 80 hours a week in Croatia too and earn more... foreigners without a previous foothold in the market cannot have it as easy, not even in US... unless you get "promised" somehow a larger salary and 40 hr work week + you get hired before you move (alternatively move for some reason other than money, as you will be in even more debt before you know it) ... just enjoy it at home, or start working 80 hour weeks to earn more

as for me and money - I am average in UK in £ terms , or actually above average in salary but below average in terms of "I rent"...
but other than that I am rich in other more important areas of life, so depends on the clarification of the question

Having done those kinds of hours in the past - I have to say that they are seriously bad for your health.

                            Generally, yeah, I count calories.

I am trying to gain muscle.

                              Interesting responses.

I feel like the wealthiest man on earth.

Because I have more money than I need, more money than I can spend .

There's not that many people who could sincerely say that...

To be honest I'm surprised at the number who say they are rich or do feel rich. It might be the forums. Most people here, are probably moderately wealthy in time. That's why they waste it on poly .
It's the people who work 80 hours week who probably tend to feel the poorest, regardless of how much money they earn... because they STILL feel they need to work harder to earn enough money...
Ultimately, it's more about contentment than anything. Someone who is content with what they have, will always feel wealthier than someone who isn't content.

The best measure of wealth of all probably, is how much time/energy people give to themselves and others. For example someone willing to donate significant money to charity probably feels wealthy - they want for nothing.
