It doesn't really bother me but if the Irish voters (not sure if the EU nationals living here get to vote on this - probably not) turn it down I will laugh.Never give an AI an even break.

It would bother me if a guy who supported the invasion of Iraq based on no evidence, going as far as to say that "if Americans won't go, we'll go alone", became president of the EU. He's not just another member country head of state, he's a dangerous beserker.

In any case the Lizbon treaty is much better than what the EU was before it.
It was a terrible waste of time, the rejection of the constitution. Anywho this whole the boy who cried democracy is dying routin anti-EU brits got going isn't doing anyone any good. For the time being EU countries respect human rights more than any other countries in the world, are more eco-friendly than most countries in the said world and have overall better welfare systems than said countires in said world.
I think if voters make stupid descisions they should be ignored.
PS Now If I was made president of the EU, I'd begin drastic reforms that would grant the Brits desire to reform the EU into the first... skipped bit.... for a safe and secure society!Modern man calls walking more quickly in the same direction down the same road “change.”

Comical. I'd love it if Britain (well England and Wales, since Scotland are on the verge of dumping the union) left the EU.
Not because I don't like the EU, but because Britain is a drag in every on the EU's operations. Britain (well England and Wales) needs to understand that its function in this world is to be the US **** warmer.Only feebs vote.

instead we are told not to worry our pretty heads, it might be unpopular but it's for our own good, so we should just sit down, shut up and take it. even worse, some people actually buy into this."The Christian way has not been tried and found wanting, it has been found to be hard and left untried" - GK Chesterton.

[q=C0ckney]what i'd like to know is if the EU (and the direction it's going in) is such a good thing, then why won't our dear leaders make the case for it and tell us ignorant plebs why we should be voting for it?[/q]
Because it isn't just the average voter who is as thick as two short planks. You just wasted six ... no, seven ... seconds of your life reading this sentence.
