I am half jewish and chose to be catholic (lutheran father, jewish mother)

I just think christianity is a more modern religion (in all senses) while judaism is a tribal bronze age religion, which got "modernized" due to the influence western christian civilization inflicted on the european jewish diaspora.

A modern jewish country ruled with laws like the ones of the old testament would look like saudi arabia.
The jews of Yemen were still polygamous in the first decades of the XXth century.

I also think the catholic church and the orthodox church are the only ones who can claim being the church jesus founded, but I picked the catholic church because you can find catholic churches everywhere in south america, the papacy, and because Rome was not conquered by Turks
