Depp, Clooney, Nicholson, Edward Norton,... are almost always good in my book.
But my favourite's probably Benoît Poelvoorde (c'est arrivé près de chez vous anyone?
): when he acts he seems to depict more of a 'realistic person' rather than most hollywood actors. Maybe cultural differences are merely to blame for that, who knows.

Denzel Washington is simply amazing.
Viggo Mortensen has some serious chops, and he does his own stunts, which I really respect.
Box office winners, but underappreciated as actors:

Jack Nicholson has to be one of the most overated actors, because he always plays the same role. Sure, he's enjoyable, but not exactly alot of range there.
