Depp, Clooney, Nicholson, Edward Norton,... are almost always good in my book.
But my favourite's probably Benoît Poelvoorde (c'est arrivé près de chez vous anyone? ): when he acts he seems to depict more of a 'realistic person' rather than most hollywood actors. Maybe cultural differences are merely to blame for that, who knows.

How could a "real person" have a name like "Benoît Poelvoorde"?

Owen is fun. He's becoming a great action star and did a wonderful part in "Children of Men". Hopefully he continues on that path.

Johnny Depp tops my list, but I'll focus on guys not mentioned yet:

              Denzel Washington is simply amazing.

Viggo Mortensen has some serious chops, and he does his own stunts, which I really respect.

Box office winners, but underappreciated as actors:
              Bruce Willis
              Matt Damon
              Tom Hanks
              Apolyton's Grim Reaper 2008, 2010 & 2011

Will Ferrell really showed me something in Stranger Than Fiction. The guy can act.

Perhaps, but nine times out of ten he chooses a role in which all he has to do is be loud and dumb.

Jack Nicholson has to be one of the most overated actors, because he always plays the same role. Sure, he's enjoyable, but not exactly alot of range there.

I'd go with Depp, Norton and DiCaprio as the best actors, but I always enjoy Clooney and Clive Owen.

My favorite actors are the ones I find the most enjoyable. That's kind of the point of entertainment, Kontiki.
