        • Could you still use some funding?

          • Personally I could use a ****load of funding. They could too, which I'm sure is what you meant.

Even if they have enough to finish the house it will be a shell. Rigo is handy and can knock together some bamboo furniture but some of the other basics would be nice...and how far they get toward finishing is still up in the air. Also when the water is put in the street, a project slated for the near future, they'll need plumbing.

Would you like to help Colon? There's instructions in the OP, but forget sending a check here there won't be anyone here until January and they don't have an account. If you want to send a check let me know and we'll do it through the US. We transfer monthly for the family and can piggyback your donation. Marivic works here once a week when we're gone and will recieve the donation. Paypal of course is ready to go anytime.

One of the things I was happy to learn when they bought it Aeson, was that it has a single producing mango tree on the property. That means mangos which means vit C for Irish. Yes, it's a pretty spot too.

My boss at the casino I worked for bought them that property, she's the absolute best boss I have had the pleasure to work for.

              • Don't have a credit card at the moment and my bank won't let me write cheques.

                  • PayPal acct is going to be closed.

To our Canadians, Wezil and Thoth...the checks have been deposited successfully here in the US and the total of both Canadian $25 contributions, just about USD $48 will be sent to the house building effort in the next few days. Thanks!

                    • We went to Mabini recently and saw the house. Right now the floor is still packed earth, but thanks to donations that will change soon. The lot is smaller, and the tree and house larger than I had imagined. The area is beautiful, going to buy a plot of land nearby myself.

Rigo and Vic are two of the nicest people I've ever met (though I could say the same for most people over here), and Irish is adorable. Here's Rigo, Irish, and Vic in front of their home:

And a short video walkthrough of the house. (Probably won't work for a few minutes, just uploaded it to YouTube):

                        • Nah, I have merely passed the torch to someone much more qualified.

                          Nice video Aeson.

Great pic of the Reyes family also.

                            • SpencerH, a big "thank you" from Vic for your $100 check recieved today. As it happens we're picking up Zkribbler at the airport in Tagbilaran tomorrow so we'll be able to deposit it. Threeish weeks from tomorrow it will be in their hands and Rigo will be able to buy the cement to pour the floor. He'll be very happy to learn it.

                              • I think Lancer is going to have an entire village of peasant farmers who owe him everything. He wants to retire like a feudal lord.
