"It's all so brief, isn't it? Typical human lifespan is almost a hundred years, but it's barely a second compared to what's out there. It wouldn't be so bad if life didn't take so long to figure out. Seems you just start to get it right and then .. it's over."

"Doesn't matter. If we lived two hundred years, we'd still be human. We'd still make the same mistakes."

    "You're a pessimist."

"I am Russian, Doctor. We understand these things."

"The last time I gave an interview they told me to just relax and say what I really felt. Ten minutes after the broadcast I got transferred to an outpost so far off the starmaps you couldn't find it with a hunting dog and an ouiji board."

"Don't sweat it. Just be that charming, effervescent commander we've all come to know and love. What's the worst that could happen? They fire you, ship you off to the Rim and I get promoted to Commander. I don't see a problem here."

"Now out of that 50, how many gods do you think I must have offended to have ended up with G'Kar's teeth buried so deeply in my throat that I can barely breathe?"

        "All of them?"

"Sounds right. And now I have to go back to the Council and explain to them that in the interest of peace the Centauri government will agree to give quadrant 37 to the Narns. I think I will stick my head in the station's fusion reactor. It would be quicker. And I suspect, after a while I might even come to enjoy it. But this -- this, this, this is like being nibbled to death by .. what are those Earth creatures called? Feathers, long bill, webbed feet .. go 'quack' .."

        "Cats."

"Cats. I'm being nibbled to death by cats."

        "I'll gain weight!"

        "Well, briefly, yes."

"Figures. All my life I've fought against imperialism. Now, suddenly I *am* the expanding Russian frontier."

        "But with very nice borders."

So, I need relationship advice. I am starting to score women on a weighted scale: 25% looks (average subjective score out of 10, with me and my three best friends voting), 25% brains (I take their most recent reported standardized test, find the percentile score, and then multiply it by 25%), 20% their percentile net worth (scored similarly to the standardized test), and 20% physical fitness (I run with prospective girlfriends and clock it -- a 6 minute mile is a 20, a 7 minute is an 18, etc).

I have three girls I am interested in dating - one scoring a 81, one scoring an 72, and another scoring a 64. I am considering the margin of error in my calculation to be plus or minus 9%, though this is entirely arbitrary and is just a way for me to consider Girl #2 since I think she might be more into me than Girl #1. Something about the way she eats pasta is disgusting though, and I might need to show my friends just how much sauce she uses so as to impact the subjective score average. Kraft cheese? What is this, 5th grade? Get off your ass and cook, *****.

Anyone done anything like this? I feel good knowing that the girls I will hang out with from now on will be objectively good catches, not just "I think I like her but ehh maybe it's just a fling" bull****.

If that is some sort of reference to the thread I posted this in, don't bother. No one was reading this anyway, and it is so hopelessly nerdy I nearly busted a nut in disgust when I read someone quoting 'Dr. Stephen Franklin Lt. Commander Susan Ivanova, Soul Hunter'. Dear god, have we gone so far?

Just got the Seasons 1-4 from Best Buy a couple of weeks ago for $20 a pop. I'm currently working through season 1, and I got my wife hooked now.

One thing I can say from the first time I watched the series when it went into syndication a few years back...each season gets progressively better than the previous one.

Indeed. But it could've been great had JMS been given the go ahead earlier, they could've also kept Ivanova

I picked up the Complete Universe (with all the seasons and the films) for about £50 a while back.

Hence the reason I only got seasons 1-4
