The scene with Vir waving has always been one of my favorites.

I'm actually a little suprised we made it to page 2 before anyone quoted that line.

I'm shocked. Shocked and dismayed. I'd remind you we are short on supplies here. We can't afford to take perfectly good clothing and throw it out into space. Always take the jacket off first, I've told you that before

                    My favorite of all:

"G'Quon wrote, "There is a greater darkness than the one we fight. It is the darkness of the soul that has lost its way. The war we fight is not against powers and principalities, it is against chaos and despair. Greater than the death of flesh is the death of hope, the death of dreams. Against this peril we can never surrender. The future is all around us, waiting, in moments of transition, to be born in moments of revelation. No one knows the shape of that future or where it will take us. We know only that it is always born in pain."
                    G'kar

The transformation of that character from bad guy to the most morally centered character was great, and the progression was credible and well written.

                    Another G'kar quote:
"No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom. Against that power tyrants and dictators cannot stand. The Centauri learned that lesson once. We will teach it to them again. Though it take a thousand years, we will be free. "

The Lost Tales. It came out last year, and is DVD only. And in form of torrents of course. So far only one DVD is out, with two stories. Both happen at the same time, centering on one major character each.

His character wasn't very nice for the first few episodes, though this is usually forgotten as he softens through season 2 and then ultimately becomes the spiritual G'Kar we know for most of the series.

He was certainly one of the villains in the Pilot.

Thanks, I think my shopping list just got a little longer. The Wiki mentions JMS is planning on doing a series about the Telepath war, I hope that works out. *drool*

GePap (or should that be G'Pap? ) The sub-plot where G'Kar is dragged kicking and screaming into his role as a spiritual icon is priceless. I didn't see him as much of a "bad guy" in the first season, just someone who is ruled by anger and thoughts of revenge. His transformation is, as you say, very well and credibly handled.

I think that was one of the show's great strengths, the major characters aren't just 2-dimensional cutouts. They come across as actual people with complex motivations and personalities.
