The premise is fine, you just want them to break it down even futher. I don't know what the cost/benefit is for that, maybe it is doable maybe it isn't. If it is it should be done. Break it down as far as the math will support I'd say.

I've looked for the relevant reg but have not found it yet. Blood donation is under Food & Drug (
) but I can't pin down the organ donation regs.

Sorry, when people are dying I care not about the math. The simple facts are there are always far more people waiting for donations than people donating. Getting rid of perfectly good organs due to biases or statistical generalizations effectively kills those people.Originally posted by Patroklos

But I don't see why, if a patient is clearly going to die for want of an organ, and is too far down on the list to get a doubleplusgood straight organ transplant, they shouldn't be offered the opportunity to get an ungood gay organ and hope for the best...
Then again, I dunno how that scenario would really play out. Aren't people who are on death's door moved up the waiting list anyway?

I'll take a gay organ, if it means death if I don't. Who is it for them to decide (whoever them is)? I hear of people getting aids from "straight" dudes organs and blood, so I really don't think the issue is where it comes from but the inadequacey of the institutions to be able to test for aids.
