I didn't see the appearance, but I understand he left Iowa on the eve of the caucuses in order to appear on the Tonght Show with Jay Leno.

1. Leave Iowa on the eve of the caucuses??
2. To make an appearance in Hollywood?
3. And cross WGA union picket lines to do it?

Is Huckabee just insane, or is he operating without advisors, or what?

This strikes me as one of the dumbest political moves in history.

1.) Huckabee is not a writer, so he didn't cross picket lines (they called him a scab).

Not well thought out, and yes he is crossing the picket line.

I've had TA strikes where all the buildings were picketed and I didn't cross their lines to go to my classes. I sure got lots of sympathy from my profs. They basically told me if I wasn't in class that I'd be responsible for the material that I missed and that I couldn't make it up once the strike was over.

Why wouldn't it? I think it puts him in a bad light. It doesn't matter whether you agree or disagree with the strike, you should still respect picket lines and not cross them. Especially not for selfish reasons like Huckabee's.
