My way home was the most spooky thing ever.

From 0 am upwards more and more fog was rising up and at the time I left the party, planning to take the night bus home (around 2:30 am) it was so dense, you couldn´t see even the lights of the cars on the streets for a distance of more than 30-50 meters. Beyond that distance the lights would just vanish, swallowed by the fog, so that you could hear a car coming, but wouldn´t be able to see to perceive anything of it at farher than this distance.

Not surprisingly the cars went very slow, with around 20 km/h or even less and, to my surprise, no night bus came, either the driver deemed it to dangerous to drive further, or it tok almost forever because the driver was forced to drive at walking speeds.

So finally, after 15 mins waiting I decided to walk on foot, which would only take 30 mins, but would lead me through the rim of a residential area where in the past on some occasions people had been robbed and/or beaten up.

It is a strange feeling to walk through a fog so dense that you cannot see the sidewalk on the other side of the street, and you can hear people or cars, but wouldn´t be able to see them until they´re almost on top of you.
To my luck I knew the route well, as else I would have been lost, as the surrouindings had a very different look from that you would have at normal visibility. I sometimes even had to look at the pavement directly in front of my feet, to make sure I was still walking on the sidewalk and hadn´t walked inadvertently onto the street.

But well, I finally made it, without ending up miles from home or getting robbed

      Happy new year

Made it home at about 5 am, slept until now. Didn't drink much - no hangover.

          Happy new year!

I survived the new years. Didn't even get drunk really, just danced and chatted a lot. Still, I miss the champagne and pomegranate juice cocktails we were mixing.

ooh, they'd be a nice way to start the day...
Exult in your existence, because that very process has blundered unwittingly on its own negation. Only a small, local negation, to be sure: only one species, and only a minority of that species; but there lies hope. [...] Stand tall, Bipedal Ape. The shark may outswim you, the cheetah outrun you, the swift outfly you, the capuchin outclimb you, the elephant outpower you, the redwood outlast you. But you have the biggest gifts of all: the gift of understanding the ruthlessly cruel process that gave us all existence [and the] gift of revulsion against its implications.

Well, Happy New Year everybody. I hope everyone is well.

We got everybody together to watch Dick Clark and the dropping of the ball. The daughter disappeared into her room 30 seconds after, the boy went to bed 5 minutes later, the wife dozed off 30 minutes later. We're not party animals.

                    Happy New Year, everyone.

I've been under the weather, so no partying for me. Today, I hope to try solid foods again. It's going to be, um, exciting...

Hope everyone had fun and survived without major incident.

Tequila Rose is too tasty. Keep it down to a dull roar, would you, Wez?

I got the tram home safely. They ran all night which meant I could rock home at 4am rather than try the burn and last till about 7am.
