I wondered why that looked familiar.

        The Mega-Bunker of Baghdad

Just been built 1st September... shows that they can do it still if they really can be bothered.

This is the largest US Embassy built – roughly the size of Vatican City – and at $600 million (£300 million) the most expensive. ... Iraqis observe that this project has been completed on time, on budget, and is entirely self-sufficient with its own fresh water supply, electricity plant, sewage treatment facility, maintenance shops and warehouses.

The new American Embassy in Baghdad will be the largest... and most lavish embassy in the world: a $600 million massively fortified compound with 619 blast-resistant apartments and a food court fit for a shopping mall.

Running a country takes lots of people... (and the bigger it is, the less of it will be taken out by any given bomb?)

I'm sure the locals are just thrilled to see their country going to hell and the US spending gobs of money on a permanent fortified compound in Baghdad... *sigh*

Yeah, "things" doesn't have to be buildings.

Some nice things, but not a lot.

                      What about urban development plans?
