I didn't click your link. I presumed it was re - the MIC. If so, this is definitely history."I have never killed a man, but I have read many obituaries with great pleasure." - Clarence Darrow

"a community of dreadfull fear and hate"
I'm not American so I never saw this, I thought the idea of a MIC something of a cold war relic. But the hint of fear in his voice combined with recen world events is very interesting.Modern man calls walking more quickly in the same direction down the same road “change.”

Eisenhower's warning (and what he predicted) is older than me. Do we have an Ancient History subforum?"I have never killed a man, but I have read many obituaries with great pleasure." - Clarence Darrow

I think Heraclitus' point is to how Eisenhower's warning can relate to our current political/military situation within the US.____________________________

Eisenhower's warning FYI, Heraclitus, bringing up 'ole Ike's comments regarding the MIC is not exactly uncommon nowadays in the US.

I do agree, and so think that all discussion of democracy, capitalism, religion, security be moved to the history forum.Modern man calls walking more quickly in the same direction down the same road “change.”

Ehhh, there is a lot that can be blaimed for the current situation (which is hardly what people rant about). I blame incompetant Congressional appropriations oversight for most of it."The DPRK is still in a state of war with the U.S. It's called a black out." - Che explaining why orbital nightime pictures of NK show few lights.
