Why didn't you care? I mean I perfectly understand bull****ting about what you really think to get 'the paper', I did it all the time, but that didn't mean I didn't care. I absolutely HATED being forced to toe the modern academic Marxist line in political science, philosophy, history, heck even in geology it seeps in.

Mostly because it seems to me that the people propagating this load are able to do so only because of their utter impotence in the real world. If they had power their babble would be dangerous. Now, I'm an English major, so I mostly encountered it in the form of "PoMo" nonsense. There may well be a field in which these notions are not quite so overtly ridiculous and therefore might be more influential. I doubt it, though. Methinks that, left to their own devices in the non-academic world, they would be laughed into oblivion whenever they starting whining about the white power structure. Soon they'd learn to shut up and live in the real world.

In much the same way, I was inoculated with indifference in HS English classes. For the first couple of years I revolted every time teacher made me argue utter nonsense in a paper, but around eleventh grade I had an epiphany: "Hey. Judging by your experiences here, much of the world is--unfortunately--run by morons. Learning to humor said morons while still growing as a person on the side is definitely worthwhile. Consider this a part of your education, an education in patience."

It's pretty similar, but yes, it's more tame. It's also 13 years old and is marked as a draft. I wonder if she ever refined it and, if so, whether it is more or less strident.
