Khadafi has been "rehabilitated" in the eyes of the West. Someone was going to sell him arms. If the French get some people freed in the process then

ABSOLUTELY related: It was a personal matter. Y'all keep accusing her of being an ignoramus, and yet this guy is supposed to be some sort of American aficionado. He or his press secretary should have known full well the types of questions US media would be asking. I realize Europeans generally don't give two sh*ts about politicians private lives, but if you're going to be doing the US mediaOriginally posted by MarkG
totally unrelated. the cheney issue is a political matter due to bush's stance on gray marriage.circuscircuit you damn well better know questions about yours are going to be asked. Otherwise, you're an ignoramus. The cake is NOT a lie. It's so delicious and moist.

Again, you're speaking of ideals and not realities of US media. That's why most of them are regarded as nothing more than empty-headed bobbleheads.Originally posted by Mercator
That would be encouraging the journalists to stick with asking stupid, personal questions rather than pertinent, political questions.
Serious journalists shouldn't be reporting things the public wants to know (that's for the entertainment business), but what the public should know. The cake is NOT a lie. It's so delicious and moist.

Just because he can expect the US media to ask braindead questions doesn't mean he has to answer them.

Well, why do you cry when a politician has the guts to say "screw you" to a braindead journalist ?Originally posted by DRoseDARs

Again, whose ignorance is involved here? The US media's or this guy for not knowing that the US media asks personal questions?Originally posted by germanos
What does that have to do with it? The man doesn't want to discuss his private life. That should have been enough for the interviewer to stop asking, since it's none of her business anyway.
Sarkozy is right to walk out on an intervieuwer that finds his personal agony in his marriage (which was probably present before the actual divorce
) more important than his policies as president.
You can't possibly be that dense. No journalist is going to end an interview with an uncooperative or hostile subject unless it gets violent or either the interviewee (or aides) or the stage manager(?) ends it.And the intervieuwer is an ignoramus as it was clear from the outset Sarkozy was not too keen on the intervieuw in the first place, so it's increadibly dumb (not to say highly unprofessional) not to get the -not too subtly hidden- hint that he had no inclination to discuss 'Cecilia' with her.
Which would be a funny thing to say, because this guy is supposed to be some sort of America groupie.Dumb B.: "Oohh, mister Sarkozy...All of America is going to seeee this...Oh lala.."

I'm ambiguous about Sarkozy's policies in general but this kind of stuff is two thumps up in my book.
The journalist acted like she was either fresh out of high school and has never done an interview before or was reporting for some trash teenage magazine, not interviewing the leader of a foreign country.

That didn't even make any sense. Who cried? Who said "Screw you."? And who's this braindead journalist? Stahl has been a respected journalist for over 30 years, getting a major boost from Watergate.Originally posted by BlackCat
