I think that opinion in the United States is decidedly different from the rest of the world because we have a free press -- by free, I mean a virgorously presented right wing point of view on the air and available to all.- Ned

        Harsh, Theban.

But yes, Ben Kenobi, pretty much what Mr. Fun and so many other said about Ann Coulter makes me dislike her. Her idea of "making fun" of other people, she immediately turns around and calls "slander" when it's used against those she agrees with.

Which is the sort of hypocricy I've come to expect from all politicians, including Republicans.

Who happen to harbor a lot of self-hating gay men, like Ann Coulter.

Aren't all republicans by default gay?

First, that photo shows two men and two women sitting as if they might have been on a double date with Coulter talking to a guy next to her. Second, is it actually her and is this the restaurant mentioned in the article? And last, some of you are taking what Coulter said about "fags" out of context - her comment about John Edwards was not meant as a slam against gays and not so much against Edwards, but at liberals who condone or even cheer nasty comments about Repubs while becoming outraged when their constituencies are unfairly attacked. I dont fully remember what this related to, but I think Bill Maher said something that angered Repubs and Coulter's comment about Edwards stemmed from that episode. I'm sure one of Coulter's fans knows the context better than me, but just look at this thread. Some people are making fun of how she looks, but do liberals go around making fun of gays or transgendered people? I dont see that happening if she was liberal...

Because frankly, transgendered gay guys already have enough problems as it is without the added harm to their reputation.

Her actual quote about Edwards was not that offensive, as it really didn't say anything derogatory about Edwards or gays.

The problem is that this is not the first time it has happened. Coulter has labeled lots of people (Clinton, Gore, Lowry, etc.) as "gays" or "******s". Each time she does so the intention is clearly demeaning and not a reference to sexual orientation.

It is this sort of schoolyard insult that really emphasizes the utter crap that comprises everything Ann Coulter says and writes.

I'm with Theben - the real question is why people listen to anything that Coulter has to say.

Once again, our dear Covelia provides the one humorous and brilliant argument to the whole sordid affair.

I have zero tolerance toward bigotry and hence, reason for my negative feelings of Coulter.
Which explains why they are calling her a transvestite of all things.

Again, she makes loads and loads of money winding folks like you up.

Folks, you have to understand. BK has a serious man-crush on Ann Coulter. Nothing he/she/it could say would ever make he/she/it non-boner-inducing to BK.
Truth? I never heard of her until I came here. I wondered why everyone had such a raging hate-on for her.

So thank you for introducing me to her Drose. You are giving her better advertising then money can buy.

Her point, as Berz said, is that what is sauce for the goose ought to be sauce for the gander.

Really, she doesn't deserve all the attention that people heap on her, the only way she makes money is by pressing people's buttons. Obviously she is very effective because her job pays her well enough that she has to write a book every now and then and write an article here and there.

What attracts people like me to take the time and the trouble to find out more about her is the level of the attacks against her. You start to wonder why do they hate her so much? The first time I read her articles I was rather disappointed. There are much better conservative authors, but she is the one that has you all spellbound and captivated. It's folks like you that are writing each cheque she gets.

If you really want to be effective, just say she isn't worth your time.
