In this case we fit the vast majority of the bill. Not because we are selfless, mind you.

          You don't?
Not really. Every police thread I've seen on many a forum is about how they're fascists on a power trip or how to breaks laws like speeding and get away with it.

Have you ever considered that "many a forum" is probably a biased sample?

                Are you friggin kidding me.

The U.S. has done nothing to stop the global piracy, which is alive and well, particularly in the Malacca Straits.

And the U.S. has never done anything by itself to help Canada.

It probably looks that way fron Canada.

which is alive and well, particularly in the Malacca Straits.
Alive and well eh, I see. Too bad only 99.9999% of world sea trade goes unmolested, obviously the sea lanes are lawless.

Btw, the thanks is supposed to be for troops serving overseas yet that is clearly not the thread title Sloww chose to use.

Umm...again, not targeting you Tingkai, but "I" am a U S Citizen, in addition to U S ARMY Veteran, I also am a former Federal Police Officer and most certainly did some good for Canada, a small, and in your case, unnoticed gesture.

I was involved ain a few eradication operations of illegal drugs as well as helped prevent some citizen from Canada getting in trouble aboard the Federal Indian Reservation I worked.

Has the U S given Carte Blanche over Canadians to score what thye need individually?

                          Certainly not.

I have relatives and friends from Canada, heck, teh Comedy is teh fawnee kind, I have -0- against Canada.

But the topic is to thank our troops for serving, not to say thank the US Govt. for doing squat to Canada.

I understand you may be supressing some bitter feeling, why I am not sure and If I am wrong, please extend forgiveness my way.

I thank Canada for allowing our Colored/Negro Troops to fly combat for them in WWII because we as a nation had serious issues with equality.

But I again stand here and thank those veyterans who now have the watch, Semper Fidelis!! (Ever Faithful)

Yeah, I noticed that. I was totally ready to throw that out there is someone said "how does Iraq help Canada?"

                            BAM, see the OP biaaatch

Though the article does specifically mention Iraq, Afghanistan and Asia.

Well, obviously you do have never heard of the Malacca Straits, the busiest shipping lane in the world, and also a prime operating zone for pirates.

And what has the U.S. done there? Zip.

And tell us what the U.S. military has every done for Canada?

I'll say now that we did not benefit from your many invasions of places like Vietnam, Cambodia, Grenada, Iraq and Afghanistan. We did not benefit from your proxy wars in places like Laos, Nicaragua and Guatemala. We did not benefit from the U.S. support of dictators in countries around the world.

And when there was a clear and present danger to democracy, the Canadians were fighting from day one while the Americans sat on the sidelines until they were attacked at Pearl Harbor.
