I'd say it's fair to assume Blizzard controls all of South Korea because of it.

The day Starcraft 2 was announced, it was a national holiday.

So does Blizzard have a similar cult of personality in South Korea like Kim Jong-il has in North Korea?

They have a cereal and TV show there IIRC.

Does anyone know if StarCraft II will have a pause mode under which you can issue orders to your units and buildings? You know, as in Age of Kings. This wasn't possible in StarCraft.

Then it wouldn't be RTS, it would be PTS, Pause Time Strategy.

Which is what I prefer. I'm not a clickfester, but a casual single-player StarCrafter who mostly likes a game like Civ where you can spend as much time thinking or doing stuff as you want. Besides, I don't see how a pause button would hurt anyone. It could always be disabled for multiplayer.

So anyway, does this mean there isn't a pause-mode-with-orders, or don't you know?

I hope there isn't. Clickfests aren't fun, but I hope SC2 can have enough strategic depth while maintaining teh sense of urgency that RTS games have.

No reason a game couldn't have pause and pause-less modes for SP.

IMO, these games should be designed for MP first and foremost. I was disappointed with WC3 in that regard, although I did have some fun games with it when the other side wasn't playing some kind of cheap rush tactic.

I hope SC2 doesn't kill teh StarCraft franchise like WC3 killed WarCraft.
