  • Big Victory for Bush administration

It is no surprise there is no thread on this here..no one at Apolyton wants to give credit to George Bush because all they do here is ***** and moan.

Well today because of him and his policies we no longer need to fear a nuclear North Korea.

I am so sick and tired of people discounting what Bush has done. Thanks to him Libya no longer is pursuing WMDs. No longer is North Korea a threat, something Clinton did not accomplish. No longer is Iraq developing weapons, and every month thousands of lunatic jihadists die in the country. Al Quaida (sp) was crippled thanks to the strikes in Afghanistan

    GWB
Apolyton can go **** itself for being so god damn BLIND about successes like these. Try checking these facts and telling me that George Bush is not a great president.

If Bush had any role in this, we'd have nuked NK.

Yeah, like it will, because it will like be, monitored by the UN. And Korea gets crap if it doesn't follow through.

Suddenly now we're supposed to trust the UN? Where was that trust in the buildup to the Iraq war?

Awww... it's so cute that people still take the North Koreans at their word .

So I checked the facts and you know what, Wiglaf is right - George Bush is the greatest leader in the history of the universe.

Honestly, I don't think we could ever have predicted the emergence of K-pop music and Starcraft addiction from South Korea. I think we should ally with North Korea and support and invasion of the South.

                  QFT.

That's no criticism of the Bush Admin, though, Wiggy. They do this to every US administration.

By the way, it would seem that this has at least as much to do with China as it does the US.

North Korea has never pledged disarmament for such rewards and under such inspection. For the love of god you people would tell me it is raining if it were snowing. Completely unbelievable the lengths to which you will go to deceive people about these verifiable facts.

I voted twice for Bush, so my opinion has nothing to do with him. I can't for the life of me understand how you think NK won't go back on their word? It's SOP for them. And you think the UN will make them? Wiglaf, do you hear yourself? Really as a conservative, think about what you just said. This has got to be just another one of your masterful trolls. Not as funny as the old lady and credit card, but perhaps even harder to believe.

There was a thread on this a few weeks back. I gave my kudoos to Bush at that time.

...Thanks to him Libya no longer is pursuing WMDs.
I'm sure Libya's change in policy arose from a lot of factors, incluidng the conviction of Kadafi's agents who blew up the Lockerby plane, sanctions, and the bombing of Kadaffi's HQ. However, Bush's assertive stance added to the pressure, so he gets credit.

No longer is North Korea a threat, something Clinton did not accomplish.
Eeeh, Clinton (via special envoy Carter) got us as far as Bush has.

No longer is Iraq developing weapons...
                          It wasn't before.

.. and every month thousands of lunatic jihadists die in the country.
...while even more jihadists, insurrectionists, and zealous militiamen are recruited.

Al Qaeda was crippled thanks to the strikes in Afghanistan
I've given cudoos to Bush for everything up until the Battle of Tora Bora. It was then he lost focus and went galloping off after boogiemen, allowing the Taliban and al Qaeda the time they needed to reconstitute themselves and become real threats again.

Try checking these facts and telling me that George Bush is not a great president.
George Bush is not a great president. He is a politically myopic, incompetent, authoritarian who suffers from delusions of adequacy.

Wasn't NK in this position before, except then Bush policy scared them into getting nukes and now he's just cleaned up the mess he created before?

I believe that Bush's foriegn policy has had its good moments. It has also had its bad ones. Overall, I think he has made the country more secure...which is really the final analysis of foriegn policy.

Domestically? That is another story. My unborn grandkids are already moaning about the debt we leave them.

Overall, his Presidency is mediocre at best. Still...it is far better than the alternatives in either election would have been.

The current crop of candidates on both sides doesn't bode well for the future either. Where has real leadership gone?
