  • Ask Ecthy anything - about Germany!

I'll try and answer as precise as the original question.

I shall check back in a few hours/days.

For those who aspire to live in a high cost, high tax, big government place, our nation and the world offers plenty of options. Vermont, Canada and Venezuela all offer you the opportunity to live in the socialist, big government paradise you long for. –Senator Rubio

Good golly gosh its Ecthy, he's NOT dead.

Germany, hmm. Is it going to get cold there soon? Do you want to come visit us in the Philippines to warm up? We're leaving in a few days, be there until the end of March. Come and visit!

At the moment we're ganging up on the rest together, in good tradition of partitioning Poland. But as soon as the small man plays it wrong we'll be ready. Which brings us to...

Only if you use them to assist us against the French when time comes.

The club is English. On one hand it would be an interesting reflection should his failure in his club be followed by more merits in the national team. On the other hand - when has Germany ever bothered with what the English say? Think ze fleet!

Just getting chilled these days, but what's even worse - it's wet! I was rather relaxed in the relatively cold Spanish winter, so I don't mind the cold - it's humidity that's a pain, in summer as in winter, and I don't think the Philippines do much better.

                  1. What are current views on railroad privatization?

                  2. Summarize, BRIEFLY, the state of integration of the eastern lander (IE former DDR)

                  3. Why is Germany apparently softening on Iran, just as France is getting tougher?

                  4. One hears much less about problems with immigrants in Germany than in France these days, a distinct contrast to the early '90s (esp in the East) Is this an accurate picture? If so, to what do you attribute it?

Why, over the past five years, did you award the following points to Turkey in the Eurovision Song Contest?

                      2007 - 12
                      2006 - 12
                      2005 - 10
                      2004 - 12
                      2003 - 10

Or, alternatively, what went wrong in 2003 and 2005?

Arsene Wenger makes the decision, and he is from Alsace with, as you will have noticed, a German name.

Winston, you know far too much about the Eurovision Song Contest there.

No, it should be a rather well-known phenomenon. France, Netherlands and Belgium do the same thing. I just looked up the numbers to accurately pose the question.
