A lot of people like Blazing Saddles. I haven't seen that for ages. I don't remember it that funny though.

Strangely enough, I keep running across modern-day versions of it...especially in union contract negotiations. Them: "But if we do what you want, this terrible thing will happen!" Me: "But you're doing it to yourselves, @-holes!"

I found that scene really lame, actually. The entire movie sucked. I heartily recommend "The Impossible Years" with David Niven, however."You say that it is your custom to burn widows. Very well. We also have a custom: when men burn a woman alive, we tie a rope around their necks and we hang them. Build your funeral pyre; beside it, my carpenters will build a gallows. You may follow your custom. And then we will follow ours."--General Sir Charles James Napier

The Big Chill wasn't a comedy. It may have had humorous moments, but it wasn't a comedy.
I have a recently discovered fact.
Alfred Hitchcok considered Psycho dark comedy.
If it is, it's damn dark.Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.
