A lot of people like Blazing Saddles. I haven't seen that for ages. I don't remember it that funny though.

            That was a great scene.

Strangely enough, I keep running across modern-day versions of it...especially in union contract negotiations. Them: "But if we do what you want, this terrible thing will happen!" Me: "But you're doing it to yourselves, @-holes!"

I found that scene really lame, actually. The entire movie sucked. I heartily recommend "The Impossible Years" with David Niven, however.
"You say that it is your custom to burn widows. Very well. We also have a custom: when men burn a woman alive, we tie a rope around their necks and we hang them. Build your funeral pyre; beside it, my carpenters will build a gallows. You may follow your custom. And then we will follow ours."--General Sir Charles James Napier

Yea, I remember that one, which is strange because I agree that it wasn't funny at all.

                      Imran -

                      I presumed that was a x-post.

                      I like Blazing Saddles

Although I like History of the World: Part 1 more.

The Big Chill wasn't a comedy. It may have had humorous moments, but it wasn't a comedy.

I have a recently discovered fact.
Alfred Hitchcok considered Psycho dark comedy.
If it is, it's damn dark.

And a little light on the comedy part.

BTW: Has anyone mentioned Young Frankenstein?

Probably not for you , but to most people yes it is a comedy (black as it may be).

According to IMDB it is "Genre - comedy / drama / music"
