Since it has now expanded it is worth noting that claiming that a Russian expedition "discovered" Antarctica in the early 19thC is about as accurate as saying Columbus discoverd the Americas.

Antarctica appears on the Piri Reis map of 1513. Piri Reis (a Turkish admiral) claimed that some of his 20 original source maps dated back to the time of Alexander the Great. Somebody sure as hell knew Antarctica was there long before 300 years ago - and they had a pretty good idea of the topography of the land under all that ice, something only rediscovered within the last half century.

YOU PUSHED YOURS natives to reservations, not we pushed ours. Our natives exist at the same lands they populated from the begining. We just build our cities and brought civilization where it never was. We incorporated their elite into ours elite, as well as their entire people into our Russian civilization. Our approach was entierly different from the start. We didn't only conquer - we incorporated. It's Alexander the Great approach, not the Barbarian "burn, kill, took their lands and settle there" approach.

And btw, Siberia is all about Taiga and Tundra. No fancy California-like beaches here.

Nope. The American Indian nations now exist and try to maintain their culture and languge at small pieces of land where you pushed them. In Russia all national republics and autonomus regions - the subjects of Federation (these are equivalents of American States) exist at the same borders as before, are autonomus and have their native language as state language (in addition to Russian). That's why in Russia over a 20 national languages, iirc.
Can you name me a single State in USA, where American Indians have real power at legal level. I mean the State governed by American Indians, where they have a local constitution which says that State X is a national republic/autonomus region of tribe X and so all institutions (educational/governmental, etc) within the borders of State X works with two languages: the language of tribe X and the English language.

Sure. But in Russia tourism is not the only source of income for the ethnic minorities. They are, and what is more importantly WERE accepted to every aspect of the social life. That's where the great exploreres like Bellingshausen come from - he belonged to an ethnic minority and made a brilliant career. And he is not just an exception, but otherwise.

I accept that Russian Empire was not too gentle to Jews (there was a restriction for movement of Jews, they were no allowed to approach capital for too close), but compared to the rest of Europe where anti-semitism was in its full strengh at that time, Russia was a lesser evil. Your people are smart, agile and flexible considering movement. They don't stay for too long in a country were they treated badly. So how can you explain that prior to 1917 MAJORITY of entire world's population of Jews lived in Russia?
