          Ideally, the goal is to not become a proxy for another human being. Look at all the evidence, analyze it, come to your own conclusion, and influence public policy on that basis. That's sort of what differentiates us from a military dictatorship. A crazy idea, but bear with me...

                You say I am wrong for not believing the statements coming form the Petagon about "breaking the army," yet I am also wrong if I believe what they say about the surge?

                  So your contention then is that Petraeus' report will be edited by the White House before publishing, or that the White House will order him to lie?

                  Do you think Congress might just ask eithier question of General Petraeus? Do you think that Petraeus will jeopardize his career to lie for President Bush?
