Well, you should read them, just know how to read between the lines (for both right and left leaning sources).
For two out of the last four years of my life the only consistant real media source I had available to me was a daily abbreviated NY Times publication sent to US ships via official email. It consisted of three pages of stories, one page or sports, and one of opinion pieces.
After all that, does it seem like I regurgitate the NY Times liberal line? No, I just gleaned the facts from the stories and ignored the spin (and more importantly exaggeration, the curse of media of all flavors).
