saw Tranformers, found the jumpy camera work really hard to follow

don't ask for US forces to come to Greece for a movie, they'll stay
Any views I may express here are personal and certainly do not in any way reflect the views of my employer. Tis the rising of the moon..

Look, I just don't anymore, okay?

Although I will say, when I was stationed at McKee Kasserne at Crailsheim West Germany in the 1970's, I got a real good understanding of the warmth of Greece, ate Greek food several days a week and well, thanks to Ouzo (which tastes like black licorice) I caught 40 hours of CDAAC (Tested positive for opium) and had to go to substance abuse counselling

I hope to land me and my wife one day on Greece's hallowed land and visit, and no wont be in fatigues and promise to only consumer some delicious food and a few drinks..but enjoy the warmth of the people there...

my point was that the presence of the army was "irrelevant and unnecessary" (see op)

you made the point that (while this is a fictional movie) the army presence is "realistic". I wont propose any names....

How is it unnecessary from a logical narrative point of view?

a couple of scenes would be enough for the "logical narrative point of view". here we basically had a movie about how the USAF (lead by the heroic Secretary/Rambo) fought the bad alien robots (with some little help from a kid and some other alien robots who happened to pass by)

Valid point, but lets not forget who writes the scripts.

You're so ridiculous. It was a dumb action movie. Stop making this into some sort of scandal.

In any movie involving large scale warfare, the army should be involved. Of course they went overboard with the campiness. That is the point.

Did you not notice the movie involves robots that can take any form? And you are whining because the secretary of defense shoots a few of them?

Well, USAF didn't have an armed planes so to shoot civil airliners in 9/11 (ok, ok, eventualy they found one training plane with some ammo) and it was the same when some private plane flew above a White House. They don't even learn from the lessons of 9/11. So much for the biggest military budget in the world.

So, well, why do you think USAF will show up against aliens? After all, civil airliners don't fight back and even then they didn't show up.

I seem to recall a piper cub that landed in Red Square... Btw, did they ever repaint that since Russia lost the cold war?
