It makes this place less boring, which is pretty important for the OT, which like every other board at poly is dying.

Also, who are you? You seem like someone from civfanatics. Moderator Action: Do not forget to put periods at the end of your sentences.

Try reading pekka's post. It is pretty obnoxious as well, but I guess MarkG didn't report it since it happened to be supportive of his whining.

we're not accustomed by pencilnecked politicians. pencilnecked is part of the definition! look it up!

let's see. it's a fictional movie. about alien robots. which transform from a cell phone or a radio or a car. and you are discussing whether the army should be present in the movie or not?

Really, I thought they were large robots shaped like CH-53 helicopters and F-22 fighters dilberatly attaking the military (not the other way around) because they have something the robots want.

Maybe if the autobots didn't spend half the movie hidding or helping a kid play grabass with a hottie ***** the military would not have to be involved.

            Markos,

You could always make your own movies about alien robots and put the Greek military in them...

"Try reading pekka's post. It is pretty obnoxious as well,"

If you mean that it's obnoxious to describe an obnoxius person, then I guess that was an obnoxious post. I didn't point out to anyone with it, and if you identified yourself with that logic, good luck

I'm amazed they were able to respond as fast as they were, when the military is so bogged down in Iraq.

Well, they did land in the middle of their base. Though I have been to Qutar, there is nothing but a command post there and a mostly empty airfield.

It's not about periods, it's about sustained insults. Pekka's posts bordered on being a bit nasty, your's were downright insulting, and so the insults got removed. You broke the rules nastily, and you got caught, end of story. If you want to discuss it, PM me. Either way, stop threadjacking.

My post might have been nasty if a person really does follow the "arguments" I showed you. If you don't think so, aka a person is not below average intelligence, then it isn't directed to that person.

It's like that ugly fat girl on Jerry Springer screaming "you're just jealous" when the crowd is booing her for being stupid ugly slut (Thanks Doug Stanhope).

It's always OK to boo some loud ugly person when they come with their obnoxious ways. Exposing it is showing the stupidity of it, and there's nothing wrong exposing stupidity. And if someone really thinks the way I just posted, they are undeniably idiots. It was totally justified as well, because most of us have actually seen these idiots and they're always loud, in denial and lack any kind of perspective and experience about the world. Not only are they wrong when just regarding facts, they're also condescending. And yes, we are allowed to be consdescending in return, because stupidity works like that.

It was also justified because if someone answers like that to this thread, well, it's not even answering or debating the question. The question was, why so much army? Most of us know why or at least have good guesses. And guess what? "WH YODN'y YOU MAK EYOUR ONW MOVIES!21" isn't any kind of answer to that question, or even a real argument. It's an idiot's answer, the fat ugly girl on Jerry Springer answer. So if we have any of these people on board, I just saved a lot of time by exposing their narrow minded world so we don't have to go that route now.

You were implying I was all those things you were posting. Your feigned ignorance is almost as transparent as LOTM's.

In fact, this post itself explicitly calls me an "idiot" not unlike a "fat ugly girl on Jerry Springer."

Well before you go off again, I'd like to say that I only read the OP and then posted. So it would be quite impossible for me to imply you.

And I wouldn't call it ignorance.
