    Are you afraid to die?

I am not afraid of death, as I know where I will come in the afterlife (faith I know, but for me it feels more correct to say know). But on the other hand, I am afraid on how I will die, as there are a few bad ways to exit.
Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God.-Isaiah 41:10
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made - Psalms 139.14a

I'm not afraid of dying, since I don't think it'll happen anytime soon, but I'd be plenty scared of something that was going to kill me.

Not afraid of dying or what's after, largely because I don't think there is anything after.

Something killing me, well, I'm less enthusiastic about that.

Nah, death is inevitable, so why be scared for it ? Not even the fact that death is a certain null and void is scary - after all, it's my life that defines me, not my death.

I feel a bit sorry for you since you apparently belives that your real life first start when you are dead.

Edit: I might sound a bit rough, but I'm actually waiting for my father to die - bad heart and the docs can't do anything.

With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

hmm...not so much afraid of dying as afraid of existence ending... The possible or likely finality of dying bugs me a bit, but cant do anything about it, so...

Oh yeah, I want to die in my sleep at a ripe old age...umm...ripe may not be the best word there.

Solver's quote says it all. Never been afraid of death, but a little anxious on occasion regarding the means of delivery. Folks who have faced death are a little less alarmed, it is inevitable, but the potential suffering related to getting there makes us all a little more cautious.

Pretty sure there is nothing after, but not willing to bet my life on that.

Further, I do everything in my power to ensure that death is not for a long time for me yet... from healthy lifestyle choices to a "Right or Dead Right" mentality. At the same time, I see quality of life as more important than quantity.

So, a long and healthy life -- ending in a short, peaceful and uncomplicated death -- I will have.

Because it can rob you of precious time on earth.

I dont mind dying, I just want the longest time I can get here, where I am right now.

Life is cool...most of the time.

Well, I should maybe have been a bit more precise - live your life to the full extent and as long as you wish and can

The one pleasant thing about death is that at least then you will get to know what happens. Even if it is nothing (hard to imagine complete lack of anything) you would still have come to know it.

On the other hand it is at least equally hard to imagine the first moment of consciousness.
