What can I say? Even faithful people have doubts.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Why do people with "faith" have such a fear of something coming to an end?
The nonsense is in believing that the faith is motivated by fear, faith is in fact more often just something which feels right.
To me, rebirth has always felt right. When I was younger and wielding the mighty hammer of logic with extreme prejudice, I tried to make it feel wrong. Then I realized I was breaking things and started to just accept what felt right.
Although I do still like to rationalize, I do tend to think that most "beliefs" have some kind of benefit to the host, or in some cases to the belief itself (memes). It's very fun to analysize this.

Where do you get that idea? Did I say that? No.
Sorry, but I can't imagine some belief in some eternal afterlife not being connected to some deep seeded fear of life ending. Its an attempt to cheat death by claiming its just the start of an afterlife. A nonsensical attempt in my view because it totally undermines and devalues this world. Its nihilistic.

no i understand death... I dont understand what faith has to do with dying. If ur to die what is ur faith gonna have to do with it? is it simply a belief that ur to enter a heaven you believe in and thats it? Cause if there is a heaven then hell must be on earth. it only makes sense. The after life is supposed to be the best, so what are we supposed to think of the current one our life on earth?

Almost by definition, going on feeling is nonsense. After all, it is not your senses that you are allowing to guide you, but emotions.
I have no problem with people having faith in something, even something esoteric or metaphysical. I do have a problem with people claiming there is even a shred of reason or logic behind it.
Logic does not explain everything, so why do people keep trying to justify something that lies outside of rationality with reason?

I think m original question was waht the heck faith has to do with dying? is it the fact ur gonna head to a heaven the may or may not exist? or hell that is the same?

Yes, because it is irrational for me to have negative feelings about other people's choice of belief. I can disagree with peoples' beliefs, and I can argue or resist attempts to forge public policy based on assumptions or beliefs I believe are incorrect, but other than that no purpose is served by rejecting other's beliefs.
It is none of my business if people hold beliefs that I think are incorrect in the privacy of their mind.

You have no problem with things that don't effect you. I don't think that's really like what you said earlier. But whatever .

I think there's a proven correlation between a positive mindset and health, or at very least, a positive mindset and happiness. If you fear death then it may very well claim you earlier, or at very least, you wont enjoy dying very much.
Faith is NOT necessary in order to not fear death*, but *shrug*, it can make it easier. If not fearing death raises quality of life then it is beneficial, and thus by extension the faith is also beneficial. YMMV.
* simple acceptance will do the trick - not that it's simple, but it's possible to learn to accept death and pain and thus not suffer.
