The people who are not afraid of death, do you think about it much? Is it a faith in religion that stops you being afraid of death?

As an atheist I have to say death scares me ****less. The idea of time being infinite or near there, and all the possibilities that the future can bring - coupled with my belief that death is just ceasing to exist just makes me

To drunk to answer seriously so I must wait until tomorrow.
With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

how can one honestly say no? I am afraid to die, cause i dont now if it will be painful or sudden. I have kids that depend on me and regradless of whether it is inevitable i do not welcome it to my front door. I have witnessed alot of deaths and none of the have been easy for anyone.

Yeah I think i've seen QFT once or twice on these old intertubes before

I've become pretty good at snapping my train of thought away from thinking about death most of time, it's more when i'm feeling depressed and maybe drunk too that I visualise the gaping chasm of nothingness and...

I am not afraid of death, as I know where I will come in the afterlife (faith I know, but for me it feels more correct to say know). But on the other hand, I am afraid on how I will die, as there are a few bad ways to exit.

Oh, and the method of death, whilst possibly grisly/painful whatever doesn't bother near as much as the possibility of losing consciousness forever. Pretty trivial in comparison.

there is nothing to be afraid of in dieing if there's no God. I would like to die if not that and that my closest family would be sad.

There's nothing to fear if there is a God either, unless you've been a jackass all your life, which quite frankly, I sweat over daily.

                              I'm a little afraid. Sure.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891
