Was it made for Transformers fans, or was it made because Hollywood can't be bothered coming up with original ideas anymore?
For all we know, Hasbro probably lobbied some Hollywood executives so they could get their Transformer toys in production again.
Without exception, every boy who sees this film will be nagging their parents raw to buy them Optimus Prime and co. Hell, even I would like to go and buy Optimus Prime, and I'm 34!

Things that struck me as being particularly awful:
- The boy hero is a sleazy, awkward, goofy jerk.
- The romantic development between jerk boy and hot but tramp stamped heroine is ridiculous.
- Might as well have been watching Terminator 2 during some scenes.
- Action sequences hopelessly incoherent.
- Action never lets up - you need a break to absorb and appreciate dramatic scenes - if it is just go go go like a music video, you are left numb.
- Obvious product placement.
- The main villains don't feature much at all - especially Megatron, who is encased in ice for 85% of the film.
- Holes in plot you could drive an Optimus Prime through - for instance, how could such a sophisticated robot like Megatron mess up his entry into Earth's atmosphere?
- Almost no background information is given about the motivations of these incredible robots.
So yeah, leave this one for the young boys if you are over 20 and you don't have much cash to squander on Hollywood crap."I have as much authority as the pope. I just don't have as many people who believe it." — George Carlin

Quoted from the above preview:
"Why are there so many human characters in a movie about robots? WTF?"
"Now while it does make sense to have more human interaction in the new movie, doesn't it seem a little lite on the robot side. Just to put some numbers up: the 1986 movie had speaking parts for two humans, and over 50 transformers. This is the opposite: 50 humans and only 13 transformers"
Therein lies the problem I have with this film. The Transformers themselves are brilliant. Having not watched the cartoon, I was intrigued by the benevolent Optimus Prime and the evil Megatron. I wanted to know more about them. But all I got was a film about an obnoxious boy. At least John Connor was somewhat likable.
What the preview says is true about this film being the opening act of a franchise trilogy, so it is hard to judge what the whole will be like. This film on its own though is ****e.
Transformers themselves are very cool.Voluntary Human Extinction Movement http://www.vhemt.org/

GI Joe? Probably not. They were the Real American Heroes and all that. Likely never made it past the censors.I make no bones about my moral support for [terrorist] organizations. - chegitz guevara

Pearl Harbor
by Team America
I miss you more then Michael Bay missed the mark
When he made Pearl Harbor
I miss you more than that movie missed the point
And that’s an awful lot girl
And now, now you’ve gone away
And all I’m trying to say is
Pearl Harbor sucked, and I miss you
I need you like Ben Affleck needs acting school
He was terrible in that film
I need you like Cuba Gooding needed a bigger part
He’s way better than Ben Affleck
And now all I can think about is your smile
and that ****ty movie too
Pearl Harbor sucked and I miss you
Why does Michael Bay get to keep on making movies?
I guess Pearl Harbor sucked
Just a little bit more than I miss you

I loved Transformers when I was a kid - the film, the series, comics. But the later series, and what I have seen out of the movie, I don't like at all."I realise I hold the key to freedom,
