I haven't particularly followed the Transformers since G1, but I was very impressed with how realistic the Autobots and Decepticons looked in this movie, particularly during their transformations.

A couple of plot developments surprised me a bit, but in light of this movie possibly being the first of a trilogy, well, the developments make a bit more sense now.

And, yeah, the boy and girl didn't particularly draw my attention. The "romance" was a bit forced, to say the least. And the movie could have used a bit more background on the history of the Transformers. Overall, though, it was a solid, popcorn and little-thinking-required kind of movie.

You don't remember the Original "Transformers The Movie" from 20 years ago?

That just makes the movie not worth seeing. It seems to screw everything up and leaves out most of the good characters.

Well I can understand some changes to the transformations just given the changes in tech that have occured since the 80s. Like Soundwave (whenever they show him) for instance. So Ican give them a little leeway on the transformations.

That wasn't live action, and never released in Europe.

This movie was made entirely out of awesome.
Today, you are the waves of the Pacific, pushing ever eastward. You are the sequoias rising from the Sierra Nevada, defiant and enduring.

The film is basically one very long and elaborate Camaro commercial.

More like an eBay ad. I mean, eBay saves the world. That's product placement.

And the final action sequence was awesome. Middle third of the movie was weak.

Add in an American to that description and I'd agree.
