Whereas under Communism, the new ruling class would have had her hanged from a lamp post simply for belonging to the old ruling class.
The idea of her ruling anything is quite non-sensical by the way.
I'm about as anti communist as they come but when I hear anything about Hilton, Lohan, and most other celebrities I almost think that they have the right idea after all. I come to my senses after a few moments of wishful thinking.

Why not - it's about the only thing that she hasn't done in public...........
She hasn't been guillotined in public yet either.
Libraries are state sanctioned, so they're technically engaged in privateering. - Felch

I've never had a client successfully cry/scream/trantrum their way into a lighter sentence, so I'm glad the judge stood firm.
Have you ever had the sheriff just open the door for them after 5 days?

The real sad part is that everyone talks tough about her but if she came up and offered a blowjob every single one of you would drop pants for her. Except the gay ones course..

Don't get me wrong here - I am all for her serving her sentence. But in this case it almost looks like she is being treated harsher than average, just for being a "celebrity".
No it isn't. Supposedly the judge who gave her the sentence routinely gives second time offenders the exact same 45 day sentence plus he presides over several hundred DUI cases a month so there is an extensive back record which we can look at and prove he hands little fish the same sentence as big fish.

45 days is pretty light for a probation violation, though maybe I'm not used to the liberal cali justice system
Well....... heh, heh, I'm not following this case as closely as you guys so I'm a bit confused. Am I correct in understanding that it was the sheriff who commuted her sentence to house arrest, but a judge overruled the sheriff's decision? I wasn't aware that sheriff's had that power. If not I wonder if it really wouldn't be proper to remove hime from his office. I would think that the proper procedure if he thought that her health was in danger would be to have her examined by a doctor, then if the doctor thought that her health was in danger to have an emergency hearing with a judge or magistrate to consider removing her to a hospital. I thought that only a judge or the governor could commute a sentence.
