        Let me guess, that's different.
Let me know when one side embargos the other.

As for governments negotiating and suing each other over trade disputes... Yes, that is normal and the courts hash it out according to international treaties. That's hugely different from how Russia has embargoed certain EU members.

The Freedom Fries thing was a couple of Republican loons pandering to Fox News because they thought it would get them votes. All they actually did was order the Congressional cafeteria to rename French Fries Freedom Fries for that cafeteria only. It was completely retarded and most Americans had a good laugh at how stupid those Republicans are and they became a laughing stock.

Yep, as stupid as it was, it's not really some big issue. Renaming things in your country is something else than threatening someone with sanctions (or actually imposing them)

Actually my friends and I were in Sanford Florida about a year ago looking for a place to eat when we came across a dingy little restaurant that had it's menu posted on the window. We were going to eat there until we saw they served Freedom Fries and Freedom toast. We had a good laugh, then ended up eating in the less retarded pizza place next door.

Then the owner of that little place is a certified Fox News watching loon.

Liberty salad, is what Sauerkraut became in 1917. Long precedents.

You realize you only eat French fries now because the Huns stabbed babies with bayonets, right?

Oddly despite UKs widely noted lack of press freedom, ive been unable to find a major UK media outlet on the web that is consistently supportive of New Labour. Everyone is either leftie (Guardian, Indy, New Statesman, etc, etc) or Tory (Times, Telegraph, Economist, etc)

Point taken, put in practice only rich individuals or organisations have the resources to instigate legal battles. Legal aid may be available to a few at the margins, but most people in the middle ground cannot afford to go to court.

my impression has been that in the UK one can find a rich person or org on almost any side of most issues. Perhaps even more so than here.
