What's more, this development has caused police to cast their suspicions on Maddie's parents, or alternatively, any of their 9 friends that accompanied them on their holiday.
Sounds quite likely, to be honest.

It took 3 months for them to get some dogs in and find blood on the walls ?
Learn to overcome the crass demands of flesh and bone, for they warp the matrix through which we perceive the world. Extend your awareness outward, beyond the self of body, to embrace the self of group and the self of humanity. The goals of the group and the greater race are transcendant, and to embrace them is to acheive enlightenment.

Most people who do horrid things to women or children are their 'family' or 'freinds'.

          Gentlemen

          Some restraint please.

Blackening people's name without any basis for doing so is naff.

Let's leave that to the media (whose feeding frenzy over this case is nauseating).

            What does naff even mean?
It's candy. Surely there are more important things the NAACP could be boycotting. If the candy were shaped like a burning cross or a black man made of regular chocolate being dragged behind a truck made of white chocolate I could understand the outrage and would share it. - Drosedars

If her own parents killed her, at least they got to meet with the pope in the aftermath. And who knows, maybe he'll even appeal for sentencing leniency on their behalf.

                Right.

I wish they'd just accept the fact she's either a) dead b) never going to be found. Harsh but realistic.

And.. the mom is now being charged by police after having undergone questioning for 11 hours straight. Dad is scheduled for questioning later today.

Just as I had come to suspect. Nothing like a killer mom deceiving the entire world - and going to see the Pope just for good measure.

At least the grieving couple got some fairly good publicity while it lasted, to say the least.

                        Humbug!

You could be a tabloid reporter with that ridiculous leap of logic.

She is not being charged - simply being named a suspect.

A small distinction but an important one (certainly for her).

I have found their behaviour since she went missing somewhat strange but I'm not sure how I or anyone else might react in the same circumstances.

Lets wait for actual criminal charges before we hang, draw and quarter them.

Maybe the charged/suspect thing is a translation issue with me. I read about it in a Danish language report, which said that she is now granted rights during further questioning, which I took to mean "charged".

In any case, I would place a good amount of money on either charges being brought shortly, or reports of one, possibly two, suicides coming in.

This all reminds me an awful lot of the Florida mom who was basically exposed on the Nancy Grace show last year and proceeded to kill herself the night before the show aired. Her son, Trenton, is still unaccounted for, by the way. She could have killed him, or she could have handed him over to someone, but the way the case unfolded, there can be no doubt that she was behind his disappearance.

This case of Madeleine is not nearly as clear cut, obviously. But I see several similarities, mainly in parental behaviour, as also noted by you. Not that I've followed this one as closely as the Trenton case, mind you.

                            We'll see.

According to my post in May, I was right...it was the parents. I had totally forgotten I made that assumption and had forgotten about this thread even.
