But, on the whole, I kinda of like the Brit system as the in the American system the US Supreme court is more of a problem that has to be dealt with than an solution.

What's the reason for the amendment process if we can change the Constitution on a whim as it is by Judicial fiat?

the constitution of Poland was only changed after serious hm, changes, to political situation of the country

I - the constitution of third may, 1791, abolished by foreign intervention

II - the constitution of Warsaw duchy 1807, abolished by foreign intervention

III - the constitution of the Congress Kingdom, 1815 - abolished by tzar after november "uprising" (so de facto by foreign intervention)

IV - march constitution 1921- after regaining independance

V - april constitution - the march constitution was severely changed after coup d'etat by Pilsudski, 1926, but it was only after his death in 1935 that it was completely changed - preserved in the gouverment in exile, but de facto abolished by foreign intervention

VI - 1952, communist constitution, after ww2 - abolished by the fall of communism

VII - 1997, after the fall of communism

there were also three temporary constitutions in work until the works over real constitutions were completed.

You think amendents such as the 13th Amendment are notoriously unacceptable? Would you have had our country to preserve slavery back then in the lame interest of having an inflexible, anachronistic constitution written in stone?

Yep, I'm glad an unelected group of people has so much power to influence the US without actually being elected. Europe must be jealous.

In other news, I don't think the founding fathers meant to make the Judicial branch so powerful and influential on American policy. They're supposed to enforce the law and make rulings based on the law, not re-interpret the law in order to fit their political views.

It's ok Ming, I really can't take offense from a guy like MRT. Unfortunately he's too far beneath me to take seriously. It would be nice though if he could make an attempt at some wit and sarcasm to at least amuse me while I look down on him.
