Hello there! I see you are discussing Fetus. Perhaps I can be of assistance.

Kuciwalker overlooks EyesofNight's slow, painful decent into motherhood. More harm than 9-11 in to condoms is equal to struggle this doesn't turn into bed, 4-8 months. Abortion has a macabre fanbase. Objective observers, different than his squad looked pretty darn close game AT LEAST 18 partial birth abortions in raleigh, mountain west, strike my allegiance to two articles which I've spoken regarding the Dharma Initiative. I lost the link. You think the terror victims don't want their husbands and daughters back? SUPPORT THE TROOPS!

Once sex starts, all bets are off, and it is this part of the law that women's rights advocates are desperately trying to change.

A recent court ruling, which determined consent cannot be withdrawn during the act of intercourse, infuriated groups including the Maryland Coalition Against Sexual Assault.

Presumably the court was referring to the legal definition of Rape - ie, in Maryland presumably Rape is defined as "A sex act forcibly entered into without consent by one party" or something like that, which means that you cannot be prosecuted for finishing what you consensually started, based on the current law.

But that's without knowing the case law or the ruling

Up till recently, I was of the opinion that abortion should be allowed at any stage of the pregnancy whatsoever. The reasoning behind this was that the woman's right over her body and the foetus' right to life were both absolutely equal, and that therefore the state did not have a moral basis to intervene in case of a conflict between the two rights, and that it would have to let whatever happened, happen.
So let me see if I understand you correctly.

                    1. The fetus has a right to life
                    2. The mother has a right to bodily autonomy.
                    3. Both rights are equal to one another.

                    4. Therefore there is no basis for the state to intervene.

My question is how you get from here to an unequivocal right to abortion. If two rights are truly equal they should counterbalance one another, such that the right to bodily autonomy cannot supercede the right to life of the unborn.

Ergo, it is wrong for the mother to assert her right to bodily autonomy over the unborn child, because her rights do not trump the rights of the unborn. The default then would be that the child must be born, because if nothing is done, this will be the outcome.

The question arose: does a woman's consent to intercourse imply that she has chosen to voluntary suspend her rights over her body with regards to the foetus and the pregnancy?
No, for the primary reason of contraception. A woman can consent to sex without surrendering her rights to bodily autonomy. If we were to say that what you say here is true, then contraception would not be permissible.

The interesting thing is that there is no need for the conflict between the two. If the unborn child is not considered part of the mother's body even when she resides within the womb, then there is no conflict between the life of the child and the autonomy of the mother. You can protect and defend both.

Yes, please let all those "unwanted" children be born. I am sure they will have a loving family environment to grow up in so they won't **** up their children (and so on).

I am all for trying to talk the mother out of the idea of abortion and for putting some kind of time limit to protect the rights of the child (as in deveoped baby, not a bunch of cells).

However, I would not take it any further than that. Because otherwise you are meddling in affairs where you do not have any right to do so. (not your boday, not your family, not your future).

Yeah, it's better to kill the babies than increase their chance of being sad...
Dude, a lot of "wanted" children have hard times too
