EDIT: I have to admit 248hp is pretty good for an estimated ''4.0''. Must have a lot of torque, like a power drill.

I would guess also, for instance, that you have never driven a car that goes 0 to 60 in 4 seconds.
I did. Porshe 911 Twin turbo 1996. 0-60 in 3.6...in first gear!! it does 108km/h in first gear. Fvcking awesome.

    4. You might find this different performance curve fun. More fun than a combustion engine. Despite pulling all these prejudices out of your ass and calling them preferences.
Talking about all that prejudice stuff, have you ever driven a Tesla or an electric sports car? Or are you just pulling things out of your ass because you think the car looks cool?

Me, I am basing my opinion on all of the videos, tv shows and magasines that I have read up to this day. Which is probably at least 10 times more than you. I am not basing it on an advert or the looks of a car.

Also, what I dont like with an electric engine, is that you cant clutch-kick it...

Still electric, and still has 2-speed tranny though...

I dont want a car that sounds like the Montreal subway. Or that has 2 speed. It's a question of taste. One of the reasons why I dont like americain cars. Usually high torque at low rpms and nothing at high. Not my kind of car.

Again, its a question of taste.

I take it you're not a fan of CVTs?

CVTs are good for golf course equipment tractors and gators.

DanS, the problem with your graph is that its missing the HP.

Do you even know the difference between HP and Torque?

                This is an advert again...

Of course a 4 cyl. engine wont have a lot of torque, anyone who remotely knows cars knows that...But what about hp, funny how they left it out, no?

My RX has 212pounds of torque at the wheels...But 327hp at high rpms. Rotary engines are ****ty torque outputters, but massive hp beasts.

Bit of a difference there no? Dont use graphs if you dont know what they mean.

                Thank you.

It charts the power of the Tesla (in Kw, not hp), but not the power of the 4 cylinder engine.

But that's not the point of the chart. It's just confirming that the motor has max torque at low speeds.

Indeed, it does. Very impressive for an electric engine.

                    FYI, 1 kw = 1.34hp.

They used ft-lb for torque, but kW for power?

Torque and HP (power) is not the same thing, so they cant use the same mesure.

Seeking objective data from manufacturer's advertising...

DanS is playing Asher in this thread, spamming with fanboyism and attacking everyone who tries to confuse the spam with facts. I believe the best way to deal with his claims is to ignore them, Spec and Dis.

DanS is putting more thought into it and presenting better facts than Spec... who just posted his prejiduces on the matter. I agree that manufacturer's advertising is generally not to be trusted, but surely it is better than no facts at all?

                                No.

Ads are not facts. When DanS is presenting ads, he is not presenting facts. What he's doing in this thread is playing arrogant and smearing a lot of swear words to people who won't agree with him so people just reading the thread would think that he knows his stuff. Sad to see that it's working on you: the fact that such debate tactics work in this forum is what has dragged the quality of OTF down during the last five years.
