You base how fun a car is on how good it looks? I dont.

Also, I'm sure its fun, but it would be a lot more fun with a turbo charged 280hp engine at high rpms with a 6 speed manual tranny.

    Get my point?

Spec: You have no basis to compare. I thought we already went through this?

Oh wait... add your prejudices, and we have a winner!

Why don't you just drive such a machine, and then come back to us with an informed opinion about the relative merits of a combustion v. electric sportscar. Who knows. You might find the instant response of the electric to be fun.

Omg you noob. I surely can. Stop talking about cars as if you knew what you are talking about.

          Tesla:
          Wheelbase 2352 mm / 92.6 in.
          Length 3946 mm / 155.4 in.
Width 1873 mm / 73.7 in. (incl. mirrors)
          Height 1127 mm / 44.4 in.
          Track 1464 mm / 57.6 in. (front), 1499 mm / 59.0 in. (rear)
          Curb weight ~1140 kg / 2500 lb

          Hmmm, I'v seen that somewhere.

1997-2004 Porsche Boxster: Specs & Safety
          Vehicle Dimensions
          Specification 2-door convertible
          Wheelbase, in. 95.1
          Overall Length, in. 161.8
          Overall Width, in. 72.1
          Overall Height, in. 47.8
          Curb Weight, lbs. 2655

There is your comparison. General yes, but 280hp with a six speed tranny is about right. I'd need the lateral acceleration of the Tesla (if you even know what that is) to know exactly if it would be similar.

Instance response doesn't equal to torque oh ignorant one. A manual tranny gives instant responce also. I understand that you only drive automatic tranny cars to put out such a comment.

What's the 0 to 60 time for the boxster?

Saturn is supposed to be good. Assuming their Sales are the same approach now as initially, Ilike their approach, too.
This is Saturn's price. Would you like to buy it? No negotiating. I hate negotiating, and refuse to partake of that circus.
You tell me your best selling price on the car, and it's good enough or I walk. No do-overs. No haggling. Take your best shot.

5.4 for the Boxter S, which has the 280hp (depending on the country) and a top speed of 261 km/h

The 4 seconds is estimated by the tesla company. So it probably means around 4.6 or so as usual. and a top speed of 250 iirc.

But that's not my point. My point is that you have much more freedom driving wise with a piston engine because you know exactly where your peak performance is. Like for My rx7, I know the max power is between 6 and 8k rpm, I can use all gears at any speed to drive in that range of rpms. You cant do that with and electric engine.

                  That's my main point exactly.

Its all in how you use a car. Electric may be fine for you, but no fun for me. Now if thats not clear enough, I dont know how else to explain it.

My dad's buying a Boxter when he moves to Perth in a few months. Might take a bit of getting used to, using your left hand to shift.

Well, **** this. I can be ignored anywhere. Like work, which I have to go back to, so they can finish their turns ignoring me. Actually, they don't do that much.

It takes no more than 2 weeks. I drove a silvia (240SX here) from japan, I got used to it after 2 or 3 days. Its the fast shifting and power shifts that are harder to get used to.

Saturn was ok at first - embarrassingly (for the rest of GM) so according to some people. Then GM reintegrated Saturn back into GM and guess what happened.

I too like the "this is the price, buy it or don't" sales approach, but (to the extent that's still going) I bet that's about the only good thing left about Saturn.

                                1. Tesla says 4 seconds, not 4.6 seconds.

                                2. Electric motors have different performance curves than combustion engines. The Tesla can do the 0 to 60 in 4 seconds. It takes the Boxster at least 5.4 seconds. The differential is not that important in itself. Rather, it just demonstrates that electric motors are better at some things.

                                3. You have never experienced the performance of a Tesla Roadster or any other electric sportscar. I would guess also, for instance, that you have never driven a car that goes 0 to 60 in 4 seconds.

                                4. You might find this different performance curve fun. More fun than a combustion engine. Despite pulling all these prejudices out of your ass and calling them preferences.
