Back then it wasn't as well known as it is now, so for them, the best option was to cut out anything that seemed even in the least affected (completely the reversal of how it is done nowadays). Actually, at first, they thought I had a bowl perforation...idiots.
I then spent the next flippin' year in hospital, undergoing several operations before they finally came up with the right answer (believe me, you really don't want to know the stuff the tried on me).

My grandfather died from Crohn's disease in 1986. They didn't know much about it back then except pulling out the bad pieces. In the end it didn't seem to matter much what they did.

      Glad you pulled through

I guess he is gone now, goen for the operation, so I can make a joke

If I was the doctor or who ever performs it, when the tube goes in, right at that moment, the music from Police Academy starts blasting, the one that is always playing in the Blue Oyster . Then maybe pop out a disco ball, lights..

I don't know. To make it more interesting.

I had a physical today. Fit as a fiddle. Lucky me.

Mine happened in 1989, so yeah. Silly thing to die from.

To be honest, I have a pretty mild form.
I had another operation about 5 years later but that was basically because I didn't take any medication (one reason was self-pity, "omg, teh unlucky me!!! How can I go on living!!!" ).
After that, I had one relapse which was solved with medication.
I was actually completely off medication completely until a couple of weeks ago. I had some light cramps a couple of times, lost some weight (in my case, something that needs to be avoided at all cost, thin enough as it is ) and after my check-up it appeared that it was back and that I do need something but not much, since then no complaints whatsoever.
I do have two bad parts that are affected but the drugs prevent them from getting worse.
The disease does not in any way impede on my life-style at all, so I can't really complain (hmmm, ok, I have a big scar on my belly but that's about it. ).

Each time I go, I ask them to inject it slowly...very slowly, it's over way to quickly.
They never seem to understand why (and never listen. ).

Any idea what they are, or could be?

                      Phew.

well that's over, and I'm mostly over the medication.

Nothing signigicant found, but some inflamed tissue was sent off for biopsy.

Its was over real fast, the nurse said that it was fast acting anesthesia, and I said I started feeling it while she was talking, and boom, I wake up in my room farting like a lunatic in front of my wife.

                      Alva-

That's a pretty rough situation for you, you have my sympathies.
