I'm of the opinion that abortion is generally speaking a bad thing and that it should only be acceptable in extreme cases, like rape and the life of the mother is at stake. But I am perfectly aware that life's not black/white and that this is a difficult question where there are hard to come with an definite answer that is applicable in all cases.

That makes me, what, a soft fundie or something?

The only circumstance in which I consider abortion morally acceptable is either when the mother's life is in danger, or when she is in such a condition that the child is better dead than alive (this may happen sometimes when the child is absolutely unwanted). However, is should be legally acceptable at all times.

I'm constantly baffled that some of the same people who would do everything in their power to keep Mexicans, many of whom want to work and some of whom speak the language, out of this country would also do everything in their power to allow babies, none of whom want to work or speak the language, into the country.

If ya think about it this way it makes more sense. The only way abortion should be immoral would be if women used it as a method of birth control. Un planned pregnancies hapen all the time but whos to decide that the woman is doing the wrong thing to abort if she cant afford the kid after words?

It shouldn't have to be a choice between affording the child, and having an abortion. There should be enough support for the women who has an unplanned pregnancy that she could either place the child up for adoption, or receive the necessities that she needs to keep the child.

I think that if abortion is the only choice for these women then we have let them down.
