No see, the Florida star was white and the Texas star was yellow. Neither had a bear.

I have to admit, I saw black bear at Yosemete. They ran from me.

Unlike, say, California, which successfully lobbied the Federal government to bar Chinese from the U.S. They also created three legal classifications for humans: white, Black, and Indian. Those who didn't fit in were made some other color, so Mexicans were Indians and the Chinese were Black. Native Mexicans were disposed and native Americans were exterminated in genocidal wars.
But Californian isn't a racist blight on our history.
All done away with prior to WW1. In any event the immigration policies were all Federal policies.
don't make me break out the nevada flag avatar again.
I've been to California many times, and have yet to see a bear.
Go to Yosemite. I once watched a bear break into a Honda Accord because the owner stupidly thought he could hide his food in the trunk and the bear wouldn't know it. The bear broke the window, crawled into the back seat, tore through the back seat, then ate the food in the trunk. The owner got his car towed away and got hit with a $400 fine for not following safe food storage practices. I imagine he wasn't pleased.
