Declaring something historic tends to leave buildings in a frozen state. I think it was pretty nice to see that historic building in contemporary use close to its original usage. It should be evident for anyone why the fundies and right wing govt wanted to see such a monement of the left and atheists to be demolished. Today we can say that the reactionists have won.
No, current use has nothing to say - it will just impose restrictions upon changes, what to do when repairs are done etc.

One thing that certainly can have spoken against it's declaration as a historical building is it's current state wich is far far away from the state it had when aforementioned historical events happened.

If you think that it in any way is in a state or use that has anything to do with its origin and history, then you are totally mistaken.

You are still harping on with that it's something that the current gov has schemed - how could they ? They werent in power when the sale was made and they actually has no saying on how a danish city should act (well, yes, they have when we talk general lines, but not in details).
With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

      • I'm amazed that this topic has made >750 posts. Perhaps I should offer congrats to the pro-rioting wannabee revolutionaries who have managed to spin out their teen-anarchism for so long.

Perhaps I should lament those of us that foolishly wasted time feeding the trolls.

At least we showed that something else is capable of exercising the attentions of this forum for this distance than KH's out-of-control ego. So congrats to *all* on this thread for that.

Why play if not to win

I dont know about my "comrades" but they dont seem to be any more paranoid than many of the right wing leaning posters here. I think you are over generalizing and assuming things without any grounds. The reason why we use the word "oppression" more than might be sometimes appropriate is because the international quest for equality and civil rights has barely started after thousands of years of oppression by the elite. So were are still very much in the middle of this struggle. There are still many obstacles, instruments of indirect oppression and eminence grise that we unfortunately have to fight against. One of these obstacles is the very same attitude that is so strong in this place to.

I dont have enough information about this topic either to continue any further. What wed really need here is a left wing Dane

I know a left-wing Dane, but he's not from this forum. You should realise that many, if not, most, who oppose you here are not right-wing, and many of us would consider ourselves from the left-of-centre, but are not supportive of what we consider to be narcissistic nihilism.

It's too easy for infantile protesters to scream 'rightist' at those who disagree with their destructive, aggressive, and ultimately backward violence.

Ironically you appear to be one of the most infantile posters in this thread.

Do you honestly believe that if an anti-Christian organization bought this building with Fundies in it, refused to sell at a price the Christians could afford, and then demolished it, that they would have simply moved to another building?

I mean really Flubber I've really given up on your ability to see reality as it is, but I will continue despite that.

You should have noticed that the outcome for the leftists is worse because the buyers are Fundies. If the buyers and/or sellers had different identity the outcome would likely be better for those occupying the building. Why should we accept your argument that we should simply accept the results of the capitalist system when they are unfair? Why shouldn't we break a law that does not treat us equally?
