And he wasn't in 7 movies as Superman or all the TV shows.

Yeah, superman has had many actors over the years, the Star Trek crew has been a single set of actors for, what, over forty years now?
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

Even as an ol timer and fan, but not a fanatic, I think Matt Damon could make a good CK. Sinise will probably be an excellent Bones. Not sure about Brody though. But any excuse to see a more modern version will be appreciated.

Hmm. I wonder if, eventually, Paramount is going to try and "reboot" TOS? As for the upcoming movie ... well, I question using "big name" actors, particularly if Paramount is looking to, at some point, do a TV series set in the TOS era.

IMO, if Paramount were smart, they'd set the next Star Trek movie a few decades (at the very least) after Voyager's return to the Alpha Quadrant. The movie could then be used as a "launching point" for a new ST series.

Setting the movie in TOS era ... hmm, well, let's just say I'm not convinced it's going to work.

I'm not that happy about the TOS timeframe as well.

I'll lay bets it's about their first voyage.
