I think Tuberski means Affleck would be a natural for an emotionless Vulcan.

Indeed. Keanu Reeves would be a good plan B...

Well, if emotionless is the way to go (and I agree), there can only be one new Spock:

Actually KR would be quite good as spock, not Affleck, just typing his name gives me the shivers.

Damon as Kirk doesn't work. Infact the whole casting doesn't work.

If they want to pull this off, they need to get UNKNOWNS, at least then its more beleivable AND you have a wider audience to choose from - easier to find someone who looks the part.

One thing I liked about the TNG captain (his name has slipped my mind) is that he was bald and kind of short, like the common intelligent alien, a human alien; and that was striking to me.

Could someone please layout the timeline for me? I don't quite understand it. My Dad is a Star-Trek fanatic, he has seen them all probably 3 or 4 times over. I only paid attention to TNG. Voyager sucked to me and that other sissy one I forget the name of.

TNG was briliant, and I guess the originals with James Kirk is considered brilliant as well (just not so much to me as its a bit dated for me to enjoy it).

My opinion on all this is that they should revive Star Trek by starting from the very start again or even before James T Kirk, it wouldn't be hard, its not as if Kirk lived for 100's of years. What were they doing before Kirk... ?

They've done a prequel of sorts with "Enterprise" but I think last year was the end of its run

Oh yeah enterprise, I never managed to catch that one. Looked ok, but heard it wasn't.

                          Ben Affleck should be Spock.

A "reboot" of TOS might work, if they set it on a different ship.
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.
