I'm leaving forever!!! (that should put me up there on Asher's IQ list!)
Well, today is day 22 with the same headache and fever. On the night of Sunday March 4th, I woke up from sleeping and had a temp of 104.6. I went to the ER (3rd time in a week) despite having a Neuroligist apointment the next morning. They took some more blood tests and gave me the Lumbar Puncture (Spinal Tap) that had been looming over my head. They sent me home by 5 am with a diagnosis of Leukemia (pending the results of a test they were running on my blood sample). I have just had my second child and get told news like this.
In the next 4 hours, I go to see the Neuroligist. He can't figure it out either. He also consults with my regular doctor and together they admit me. I have been in the hospital since Monday. They sent me home Saturday because they were doing nothing for me there that I couldn't do on my own at home, and they had basicly ran out of tests they could run on me.
3 CT scans,
2 X-rays,
2 Ultrasounds,
Spinal Tap (and subsequential Blood Patch),
Several Urinanalysis,
Something like 15-20 blood samples,
and about 10-15 blood cultures.
End result: We think it's CMV (Cytomegalovirus), but the test to check for it takes a couple of weeks. If we're right, you will probably experience your symptoms for another 2-5 weeks.
A severe diagnosis so hesitantly and difficultly given requires a confirmation from a higher medical authority. I suppose that there are somewhere in your country hospitals highly qualified that could clear your doubts..
Statistical anomaly.
The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.
Well, hope it's that CMV - it sounds a lot better than Leukemia.
Hope you get better soon.
With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.
Smoke pot. Yes, I know, the job. Well I don't see the job curing you. I'm old and look at me. I rock.
Seriously, good luck with this, Chief. We're thinking of you.
Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.

On the dark side: I just spend two years with a toothache that nobody could figure out (dentist - X-rays - tooth surgeon - X-rays - MRI scan- tooth surgeon - Throat-nose-ear surgeon etc.) that left me basically sitting it out and prodding my own gum... yuck. I finally got rid of it though a few month ago.
Can't see you prodding your own brain to get rid of your headache though
eat lots of fruit and stuff. You may have to cure yourself
I don't know why he saved my life. Maybe in those last moments he loved life more than he ever had before. Not just his life - anybody's life, my life. All he'd wanted were the same answers the rest of us want. Where did I come from? Where am I going? How long have I got? All I could do was sit there and watch him die.

We have the Mayo clinic, maybe a couple other places of that caliber.
