Remember what Talking Heads told us years ago:

Facts are simple and facts are straight
Facts are lazy and facts are late
Facts all come with points of view
Facts don't do what I want them to
Facts just twist the truth around
Facts are living turned inside out
Facts are getting the best of them
Facts are nothing on the face of things
          Facts don't stain the furniture
Facts go out and slam the door
Facts are written all over your face
Facts continue to change their shape

          But remember too:

I see the states, across this big nation
I see the laws made in Washington, D.C.
I think of the ones I consider my favorites
I think of the people that are working for me

We got computer, we're tapping phone lines,
          I know that ain't allowed

Warning sign of things to come (take it over, take it over)
Someone's talking on my telephone (when we're older,
          when we're older)
          and:

Call this the law of justice, call this freedom and liberty
I thought I perjured myself, right in front of the jury!
Is this a crime against the state? No!

It's the truth, it's the truth.

          But in the end :

WELL WE KNOW WHERE WE'RE GOIN'
BUT WE DON'T KNOW WHERE WE'VE BEEN
AND WE KNOW WHAT WE'RE KNOWIN'
BUT WE CAN'T SAY WHAT WE'VE SEEN
          AND WE'RE NOT LITTLE CHILDREN
AND WE KNOW WHAT WE WANT
          AND THE FUTURE IS CERTAIN
GIVE US TIME TO WORK IT OUT

We're on a road to nowhere
          Come on inside
          Takin' that ride to nowhere
          We'll take that ride
We're all now living in a Talking Heads' Greatest Hits' album.

That's where the expression : ''Pulled a Faded Glory'' comes from...Like Elvis, some say he pulled a Faded Glory. Get it?

And Zylka was here 2 weeks ago, he had problems with his PC or something...Well, he was ranting...for a change...

Note that I didn't make a single post in that thread. Ogie's posts seems rather sparse, as well. Odd that, considering that we were supposedly waging a "psychological warfare campaign" that eventually drove Ted away...

In fact, I had little to do with Ted towards the end. He had slipped past the point where poking fun at him held any enjoyment; it was just sad watching him unravel. He also had a hardon for me (much like VJ) that made it advisable to just ignore him altogether; the least bit of attention might lead him to follow me around the board. I don't bother with people like that...
To the initial OP. I wish Ted Striker well and wish he would return. Some of his stuff was priceless. (At the risk of armchair psychology tho' it did seem he was a bit of a attention whore. Who once castigated on a level normally reserved for the likes of Ned or Fez seemed to unravel fairly quickly. I do however think he probably had other life commitments rather than be so brazen as to think a little criticism from keeping him a member of 'poly.) AS was the case when Oerdin threatened a hissy fit and was going to leave I thought it a shame, posted as much, and wished he would decide to post at poly. To his credit Oerdin did. Good show.

As for VJ. Who the hell is this guy, other than his creepy stalking behavior I have never had any dealings at all with this guy?

              • What I said previously about conspiracy theories is a bit provoking, it's not meant to start a new debate or round of insults/flame wars.

It is only to say, that we've had wild stuff said in here, by many posters, so I don't understand why Ted is singled out as a nutter. I just don't get it.

We can't all like all posters. BUt you know, some of us enjoy some posters and it's not fair that because someone doesn't like someone, that there is this consensus that this someone is not welcome or wanted. It's just not true. Only the owners of this board can say that someone is not wanted here, and that's also quite a technical detail.

If everyone of us got to vote someone out, there would be no one left. Well, I happen to think that Ted was liked by many posters here, and I was one of them. Just because he'd shell out one conspiracy theory, well I just think the whole thing has blown out of proportion. I hope if someone has his e-mail or something, that someone would mail Ted and ask him to come back.

I'd like to see Ted back. And it's wrong that when he left, that he had a feeling of everyone being against him like that. A lot of us weren't against Ted, plus, I missed the whole thread, so I never even got the chance to talk him out of leaving, so even if he decided to leave anyway, he would have still known not everyone wants to see him go.

Wrong on the first part my friend as I did not advocate Iraqi invasion. Mine is the Powell approach we broke it we are morally obligated to fix it rather than pull a Dem 1975 f*ck them let them die approach.

I don't argue man is not having an impact on the environment. I simply don't believe anyone has an answer as to the degree as the huge unknowns are not the direct implications of increased radiation retention via CO2 concentration but the feedback effects which dwarf the CO2 forcing response. Let alone whether its necessarily a bad thing.

Any other points you wish to be corrected upon regarding my stances, let me know.

                        VJ

Who he is you ask? He's the guy that explains something in a way that everyone and anyone can understand. It's really hard to twist his words around because he has, imho, a gift of saying things in the simplest and most direct manner....Well, on poly that is.

                        I always read VJs posts.

Dont call him a stalker. You only think hes a stalker because he pops up in your life when he calls you out on something. Many posters are like that.

So sorry I naturally assumed the connection as a linear connection following Ninot's post which proceeded your drivel.

How silly of me to think you capable of linear thought.
